January 5th, 2013 – Day Three @ the World Cup

Another jam packed day in Nantes , folks.

Team Canada continued it’s journey into qualifying by playing Luxembourg and Belgium in the morning. Unfortunately, they fell short a few games and lost to both teams (who are now both in the semi finals). This put them in a bracket trying to save their spot in D1 for 2014. They ended up playing Poland and Slovenia, winning against Slovenia (deja-vu to 2012, anyone?) allowing them to remain in D1.

There were a few tough matches today for the Canadian boys, but they played hard, kept their heads up and finished the day strong. While it might not have been the result you wanted, we’re all proud of you tonight.

As for the rest of the team event, the men’s division got as far as the semi finals, which will be played tomorrow.

The two semi-final matches will be:

Belgium vs. France

and

USA vs. Luxembourg

Tomorrow is our last day of the tournament and Kozoom & ESPN3 will be streaming the semis and final matches LIVE! Get ready sports fans, there’s still foosball to be played.
