WHEN / HOW YOU STARTED PLAYING
I still remember my first encounter with foosball was during my internship at a software company in Vancouver. It was my first week on the job and I was having lunch with all the other interns in the rec room. They had two foosball tables there, and one of them was a T3000. I had absolutely no idea how the game worked but something about its explosive and fast paced nature drew me in. Fast forward a couple years, where I was working at another company, one of the main local tournament organizers in Vancouver, Peter T., put up an event poster at work, and it exposed me to a whole community of passionate players that I had no idea about. He was, and still is, one of the many mentors that I look up to.
HOW THAT LED TO TOURNAMENT PLAY
I’ve been competing at most of the local tournaments hosted by Cam, who is an avid promoter of the sport in Vancouver, and with his encouragement, I have started travelling to tournaments outside of my home city.
WHAT YOU DO OUTSIDE OF FOOSBALL
When I’m not playing foosball, most of my days (and into the late nights), are spent writing code. I’m currently working as a Software Engineer at a customer intelligence software company, and, this is a field where I can bring both of my passions together. With the little time I have remaining, I love being a couch potato and enjoying a glass of full bodied, peaty, whiskey.
